Description

Deals with the skills and knowledge required to provide an advanced first aid response, including management of the incident and other first aiders, until the arrival of medical or other assistance.

Applies to workers who may be required to provide, coordinate and manage a first aid response across a range of complex situations, including community and workplace settings.

Duration/delivery method

7 hours face-to-face training with some pre course study.

Or, 12 hours face-to-face training.

Assessment procedure

Assessment is at the end of the course to show the instructor that you have an appropriate understanding of the procedures necessary to manage a life-threatening situation.

This will consist of a theory assessment and practical demonstrations.

Outcome

At the successful completion of this course participants will be issued with a statement of attainment valid for 3 years*.

*Please note that the CPR component of the training is only valid for 12 months and should be updated annually.

Pre course study options

There are a number of different options for completing the pre course study including E-book, online training, or hard copy workbook. 

The pre course study includes a short assessment that you must take with you to your course.
